On this week's Episode of a Dryer Dose of Disney, Jared has special guests Anthony and Lisa on to talk about eating gluten free at Disney World. Welcome to this week's episode of a Dryer Dose of Disney. I'm your host Jared Dryer, and today I have got two very special guests with me. Anthony and Lisa, and we are gonna be talking about gluten-free at the Disney Parks in Orlando. Now, before we get started, I do wanna ask wherever you're watching this podcast, if you're on YouTube or if you're listening to this at your favorite podcast provider, I do ask that you find that pause button and go find, subscribe, and click subscribe. If not, find us over on Facebook and then you can reach out to us and tell us about topics you would like to hear more about, and we're happy to do episodes for you on that. Coming later this year, we're gonna be talking more about planning more international trips specifically to Japan. That's one that we've talked about a few times on the podcast that we would like to do, and we finally have wheels in motion on that. So we will be planning that later this year, and we will be traveling in 2027. So we'll have some best tips and tricks for that as well. And then anytime you're headed down to Orlando, we wanna encourage you. You can stay where we stay, and in fact, Anthony and Lisa stayed with us down there at the condo for a drier dose of Disney, and you can find that down in the podcast descriptions below. The last thing I wanted to tell you before we dive into this episode is we have closed our Etsy shop. So if you are a fan of our Etsy shop and the I can do this all day gear that is sorry. And I do apologize, that is now closed. We didn't have a ton of sales, so it wasn't worth maintaining it at that point in time. But if you would like to get some of that merchandise, I can direct you to the right place. So again, just find us out there on Facebook at a Dryer dose of Disney and we can get you pointed in the right direction for that. But without any further ado, we are here today to talk about going gluten free in the parks in Orlando, specifically the four Disney parks. And like I said, I've got my good friends, Anthony and Lisa with us today, and we just went to the parks with them a little bit more than a month ago. Is that about right? It's about right. Yeah. So long time listener, second time kind of caller here. So we're glad to join the pod once again. We're thrilled to have you guys. You guys are a wealth of information and it was so much fun to hang out with you guys down in Orlando. We got to spend four great days going to all the parks into Disney Springs and to just have a great time experiencing the parks, but to try all the different foods that are out there, because a lot of our listeners, like you guys, may want to be gluten-free. So will you talk to us a little bit about being gluten-free, what that means, just in regular life terms, in your family life, stuff like that. And then we're gonna dive into what it was like at the parks. You start and I've got, I'll go after that. How's that? Perfect. Yeah. We didn't want to be gluten-free. We both pushed that off as long as we could and then we both felt so gross. And so I think it's been about 10 years for me. Maybe a little less for you. Yeah, about five. About. But we figured out that we feel better and so we do it because we have to, not 'cause we want to, we don't make our kids do it, which is good for them. And then we just. Our sad face every time we see donuts and cake and all of the cake, all the yummy stuff. Yeah. Yeah. We luckily are not we don't have celiac, we don't have a sort of a super sensitive like allergy, but we just do feel better. And we're not as maybe sensitive as others, so we might be a little bit easier for us, but we didn't want to take any chances, especially right when you're away on vacation, in a, in an, not familiar place. That's the worst to not be feeling all that great. So for us, it's not a huge deal, but it is a huge deal, if that kind of makes sense. No, it totally makes sense. And thank you for sharing that. I can say for me since I don't have a gluten allergy and I'm not thinking about it, as you guys saw, every time we're walking through the park or saw food, I'm like, oh, this is great. That is great. And I'm not always thinking about what it actually has gluten out there, in the parks. And there was actually surprisingly, quite a bit almost everything that I love and I've grown to love over the years, had some form of gluten in it and, you guys were able to navigate the parks and steer clear some of those items. Or maybe there were some custom items that you guys were able to partake in that I hope were just as good because we didn't always eat all the same stuff. But why don't you talk to us a little bit about your experience at Disney as a whole. And how that process worked for you guys, trying to find the gluten-free options and then we'll go through park by park, what were the best things that you guys liked or in some cases, maybe even the worst things, the ones that stood out and weren't as good as the others? Yeah, so I'll start, just with our kind of Disney experience, right? We're Disney Cruisers. You can see my sweatshirt here. And so we understand the way that Disney does. Food allergies, they're very like, particular about it and almost to an uncomfortable degree. Where you just want I just would rather have some fries. And I know there's probably not gluten, there may be some cross-contamination, but Disney is super like rigid about making sure they're, that you're safe and which I appreciate. And so we understand that concept from the Disney cruise line perspective. And it's the same. Same field, at the parks very much separate sort of everything. You, we even got separate trays, right? If you remember Jared, you had brown or black trays. We had purple trays. Our foods had little kind of toothpicks in there that were purple that kind of indicated that there was a food allergy involved. And very much like two separate sort of situations that your food was prepared one way. Ours was a different way. And it, and honestly, that provides a little bit of comfort saying, Hey, there, there is an actual difference here with our food. Yeah. And I would say it was easier to navigate gluten-free when we went to actual restaurants where we were sitting down places. The stands were a little harder to navigate and it. I hate, 'cause I hate asking anyway. And so if I'm asking if it's gluten-free, then I would just want them to say yes or no. But it was I don't know. I have to check with the chef. And then they had to call someone or find someone. And when you're standing in line with a whole bunch of people behind you I hated that they were super gracious about it and they never made a big deal about anything. But it was always easier to go into a place and sit down. Rather than the standup kiosk. Yeah, we'll talk a little bit about that, like at Epcot specifically, that we felt kind of that, that feeling more at Epcot. Yeah. As opposed to the other three parts that we went to. Yeah, great points and great tips. And I'll say that we did an episode a while ago on a peanut allergy. We went with to the parts of somebody who had a peanut allergy, and I noticed the toothpicks and stuff in all the food. I didn't even notice the trays until you guys pointed it out, that yeah, the, they're using a different color tray to alert the staff that, Hey, this is going to an allergy table, whatever the allergy may be. But that way the staff is aware that there's a guest with an allergy. They're watching for cross contamination, and I'm probably even guessing to an extent, Disney. The workers there are probably watching these people from a distance to make sure no reactions are happening, nothing negative is happening. They're very mindful and they want to make sure that everyone's having a great time, including those people with allergies, and that there's no negative reactions whatsoever. So they do go above and beyond, and I really love that about them. The one other thing I would mention is we just found, and this was across the board, this wasn't park specific, but it just took longer for me and Lisa's food to get ready. So like we would order at the same time and you guys would be eating your food and we'd be waiting there, salivating over what looked like an amazing meal that you all were having, waiting for hours to get done. This isn't maybe, and I can do this all day. Tip of the day, sure. But if you are gonna be ordering together maybe order the gluten-free first and then wait a little bit if you want to eat together. Get your meals at the same time delivered. Yeah, very true. It did take a lot longer for you guys to get your food. Than just the traditional stuff. And I imagine, with all the traditional foods, they've probably got, 30 or 40 of 'em ready to go and they're just throwing 'em onto trays. For you guys, they gotta, they're cleaning the stations, making sure it's ready to go, using the proper ingredients and getting you guys taken care of there. Yeah. Yeah. It makes you feel better, right? Like they are actually taking a step to keep you safe, so we'll take it. Yeah. Good. And I love the point you made about the kiosks or the carts were a lot different. Than actually going into the restaurants. So can you speak a little bit to the menus, how you guys were approaching it, how you identify gluten-free items, and tell us a little bit more about that side of it. I'll say the app was super helpful once we figured out that we could see not only what was there in the restaurants, but if you scrolled all the way down, it actually had gluten-free menu items. And so then you knew for sure if this was gonna be a restaurant that you were gonna be able to find a significant amount of items to eat, or if it was gonna be like a, that might be nice if you eat regular food, but if you have to have gluten-free. It's probably not gonna be the best place for us. So we ordered a lot through the app, or at least checked out the menu before we went, and that helped at all of those restaurants. I don't think again, and maybe it's Epcot specific, where it was harder to find some of that on at the carts and the kiosks, but, yeah. That's how we did most of our investigating. Yeah. And I think Jared, you would probably be more, more attuned to this than we would be, but at Epcot specifically, I don't know that there was necessarily a way to mobile order at those carts around the world stroke case or whatever. So that, that one felt of the four that we went to felt different in the way that we were able to order, but. Can we just start there? Because that's where we started. That was our first park. Yeah. Let's talk about Epcot. Yeah. Yeah. So we fumbled around at lunch and we didn't really find anything that worked for us for lunch, but when we got to snack time, we ended up in Paris area, France time. Are we like preschoolers? We snacked our way through the park though, right? That's right. We were Disney adulting. So that's what you do. But we went to France and at the Crepe shop, which. I'm thinking like there's, we're not gonna find anything impossible. Whatever. We get up there and they're like, oh no, we can do all of our buckwheat crepes. They're all, they're naturally gluten-free and we can do the savory ones or we'll make 'em sweet for you. And so that was so sweet because I haven't had a crepe for. 10, 15 years, which was just really fun and special. Yeah. And then remember we got the risotto at one of the, one of the earlier carts that we stopped at. And with that one specifically I remember that they had to call back to the chef because I think, I don't know if it's just the, we were there during the Art Festival. And so I don't know if like it's a different menu or whatever, but they said that some days. Something that is gluten-free, might the next day might not be gluten-free. And so because of a different ingredient the chef put in that day than the day before. And so we ordered risotto that was, that they said was gluten-free, but they said, we want to double check. And so they had a call back to the chef, got the okay that it was gluten-free. And it was actually very delicious, too. Very delicious. Yeah. Yeah. No I definitely remember that. Let's go back to the crepes for a second. So the buckwheat crepes is what they use as the standard for the ham and cheese one, which in my opinion, I'm a savory person. Yeah that's what we ordered. We absolutely love that one. It is really good. And I'll say the buckwheat crepe is really tasty. Yeah. So definitely a really good fine there. So thank you for bringing that one up. Yeah. Tasty and a good texture. Texture is super important. As you think about gluten-free, breaded stuff, sometimes it just doesn't feel right. Yeah. And that, that felt like a good Crepe. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And we had a sweet crepe with the buckwheat, and it was still very good. Love it. Love it. Now let's talk for a second because this is a question I don't know, and if you guys don't know either, that's okay. We can skip over it. But a question that I have is, we were there for the art festival and with the art festival they have the little booklet, that you can see all the stands around the world. So like you said, it's not on the mobile app. You can't mobile order, you're not gonna see what's available. Did either of you get a chance to look through the booklet and see what foods were out there, and did that give you any indication of what was gluten-free? Yeah, that's how we even found the risotto, because I know that risotto usually is gluten-free, and so we saw that it was on that menu, so we thought we would check it out. That's when we had to ask though, and then that's when I started getting sweaty and uncomfortable. But they were great about everything and it was worth it. Yeah, and I think, don't quote me on this, but I feel like there was a couple of. Symbols that would say gluten-free maybe. Maybe now that you'd say that. I think that might be right, but it, but that, that was the hardest part to find, we really just had to ask each time we ordered at Epcot and that day we didn't go to any restaurants where we could order in the actual space. We only did carts, and so maybe it would've been different if we had, maybe it'd been in like every other park. I want you to rest assured, and I want our listeners to rest assured. When you go up to these carts, again, Disney's gonna go the extra mile. They wanna make sure you're taken care of. It is totally okay to ask, even if it's gonna be, Hey, we gotta call the chef in the back office here for just a second. Take an extra two or three minutes. Nobody's day is ruined with an extra two to three minutes to make sure you're safe and that you're getting food that's quality and that you're gonna be taken care of. And if people are grumpy behind you, remember they're gonna go wait in a 40 minute to an hour long line to get on the next ride anyways. That's right. And what's an extra five minutes for food? And with the carts and the kiosks, especially at ep. You guys probably noticed they had multiple checkout stands everywhere you went to. So even if you're taking a couple extra minutes and they're asking questions, they're still putting people through those lines and able to facilitate the rest of the people going through. So it's never a bad thing. It's always good. Let's at least ask the question. Make sure that we're doing this the right way and taking care of those allergies. And better, better to double check. And we also were pleasantly surprised a few times too, that things we thought weren't going to be gluten-free were, and so it is worth asking. Yeah. The other fun part of Epcot right, is most of the drinks most drinks are gonna be gluten-free. And so there were plenty of tasty beverages, adult or otherwise that we were able to indulge in there. And I'm. Thinking of you, that French martini, that frozen martini. Oh, mercy. That was good. There were, there are definitely a lot of good drinks at Epcot. So let's talk through Epcot just a little bit more. So you talked about Paris and the crepes. You talked about the risotto. What was some of the other items that you had that you really enjoyed? Or what was the best thing and the worst thing that you had at Epcot I don't remember anything after that. Yeah, I remember the crepes and the risotto. So those were the two best. Maybe the other things we had were not honorable mentions. There you go. You put that steak thing, remember you, we were standing in line for frozen and you went and grabbed that. Oh yeah. Was that Germany? Germany. I think that was in Germany. Was really good. It was delicious. I can't remember what it was though. Yeah, no, that's okay. But the meat outta Germany, I feel like it's like little tenderloin. Little like tiny tenderloin. Yeah, that sounds right. It was like a beef tenderloin on a skewer. Yeah. Yeah, it was tasty and it was great to keep me occupied in the frozen line, so I'll take it. Yep. And that ride did take a little while to get on. It did. It did, but still great ride. And the good news was they just updated it so you guys got to see it right after it reopened with the new animatronics. And they looked so much better than the old balloon faces. That they have on that ride. So Epcot is just a great park, right? Yeah. It's just, it's got its own unique flair and we, we just loved yeah, exploring it in a different way with you all that we hadn't experienced in the past. We've been a couple of times, and this was by far in a way the best experience at Epcot and all four parks for that matter. But specifically Epcot, we are able to explore and see all of the world showcase and it's pretty sweet time. Very fun. Good. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. As I've talked about on other episodes, the art festival's my absolute favorite. You get to see the artists all the way around the world showcase and then out in some other areas of the park. And though this year we didn't find any new art for our house, it was really cool to see some of the artists that were there and some of their artwork. What did you guys think of the art festival as a whole? Food aside, since you guys hadn't been to the art festival before. It just, it adds another sort of flavor to Epcot it feels like just the park is new because of that. Yeah. And different sort of styles of art. I'm not a, I'm not a huge con of connoisseur of art, so I don't necessarily know what I'm looking at, but when I see something that's cool I like stopping and looking. So there were plenty of spots to, to be able to do that at. Yeah. And it's neat to see all the different mediums and ways that artists are interpreting, even if it's the same sculpture or the same castle seeing different ways of putting that down on canvas or whatever it was. And they're gorgeous. Yeah. Yeah. We absolutely love it. And like you said, Anthony and he hit it, hit the nail on the head there and. The best part of Epcot and the reason that our family loves Epcot so much is with those four festivals a year, it's like the park refreshes and they do something new. And especially at the food, it's always new foods every time you're going in there and you get to experience something different. So it is like going to a new park in a new encounter every single time. And as you guys know, the four festivals, so we did at the beginning of the year was the art festival. Now, 'cause we're in the springtime they've got the Flower and Garden Festival that just kicked off just I think it was last week. And that one's up and running. And then everyone's favorite is in the fall, which is food and wine. And food and wine is just incredible. The food there is insane. And, I'd love to go back and see what they have for gluten-free at food and wine. And then right at the end of the year, between Thanksgiving and the New Year's, they have the holiday festival. Which is a really unique experience where they not only have good food but they've got the candlelight vigil every night, and then they've got different storytellings around the world, showcase of that Santa Story or Papa Noel, for each of the different countries and how they celebrate Christmas. And it's really cool to learn about different cultures as well as sample of the cookies from around the world. And you had Lisa at wine, so food and wine. Yeah, food and wine. Wine. You lost there? I was done, yes. Food and wine. So that's everyone's favorite. That one goes on the longest. So after Epcot the next day we went to Animal Kingdom, right? So on Friday. So talk to us a little bit about Animal Kingdom, what your thoughts were there. Yeah, I think maybe, we started to get our legs about us in terms of how to like, use the app and that sort of thing. And so that was the first sort of foray into that. And we'll get to that here in a little bit. But the, we had lunch at, we had breakfast there too. B where did we have, oh yeah. Do we have the tater tot thing? No. That it was. I can't remember what we had. So we had a few, we went to a few different restaurants. So we had we went back and did the safari in Africa. Yeah. And when we came off the safari, we went and got, yeah, the breakfast tachos over there. Yeah. In the African marketplace. And that's something we like to go to every single time. We absolutely loved those. There was, as you guys saw, a long line for those. But talk to us about Yeah. What you guys had for breakfast that day. Yeah. So I think that was one of the places that we were surprised we were gonna be able to eat what you guys ate.'cause Yeah, we ate the exact same thing. So that was really fun. The breakfast tachos were so good. Yeah, we were talking about that actually on the, like right before we hopped on because. That was one of the things we actually loved a lot. And just a really fun way to kick the morning off, and that's just a fun part of the park too. Kind of lots of activity. There was that like drum band kind of playing and just a fun little kind of area there. And I had I had a coffee too, but African Oh yeah. With Amarillo in it. Uhhuh. Oh, that sounds great. That sounds great. Very tasty. They also, over there they had the sausage and egg biscuit, which we've had in the past. That one's really good. I know that's not gluten free. But that was available over there. And then I know when we circled back by we found a little Dole whip. Yes, we did. In fact. So Dole whip is gluten-free and Dole Whip is so good. Yes. And I think it's dairy free too. Yeah. Even better. So good. You can't miss with that, whether you're at Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom or now they've got it at the at Disney Springs over at the swirls by the water. Yep. Yep. Dole Whip is a great snack and a great treat. Anywhere you can find it. Yeah. Talk to us more about Animal Kingdom. What else did you guys enjoy there? Yeah, I think, lunch at Animal Kingdom was good. There, there were plenty of options from a gluten-free perspective. Lots of different bowls. If you think Chipotle, Qdoba sort of bowls, if you think like rice and beans and that. And so with that you can make it your own a little bit and really know that it's gluten-free and pretty easy. Too easy to make. Yeah. Do you remember where we ate? Shared? It was I think it's called, yeah, it's Suli's It's down in Pandora. Yeah. Right next to Flight of Passage. Great little restaurant in there. Now we did, I'm gonna have a little antidote here. We did have a difficulty getting a table in there and not only difficulty getting a table I will encourage our listeners, if you get a table and they tell you no, you need to get up from that table 'cause other people need it. You don't have to. We got a table, we were told to move because we were waiting on an order and we did, and then we couldn't find one and had to talk to somebody to help us find a table. And they said, no, they should have never asked you to leave that table. Lesson learned, we're, if we get a table and it's big enough for our group, we're gonna keep it and hold onto it. But talk to us about the bowls that you guys had. Yeah, they were tasty. They hit the spot. It was enough sustenance to keep you going throughout the day. Really tasty and yeah. Yeah, just, it was good. Yeah, it was good. Like you had said, like very similar to a Qdoba or a Chipotle with a protein and a grain or multiple grains, vegetables and then a sauce on there. Yeah. Very good. Yeah. And enough, Lisa had something different than that, than I had. And yeah, it was great. Good. Good. So overall, animal, kingdom, any other foods stand out to you guys? Yeah, we went to Yak Yeti that evening.. That was just a fun night hanging out up on the second level there. And they had a super varied gluten-free menu. So we felt honestly it was almost a little bit overwhelming because throughout the day there were only a handful of things we could have at Yak and Yeti. It was like overwhelming. Yeah, it was great. The world was our oyster there. Yeah. We, I had gluten-free fried rice, I think or something along those lines. It was so good. Yeah. And I may have ate too much, but it was so good. It's okay. You're in good company. We did the exact same thing every time we stopped to open our mouths and shovel a little food into it, we eat a lot, and then like my very favorite thing I think that I ate the entire time we were there was the churros that we got. Okay. Nomad Lounge. So at the Nomad Lounge, we made a special trip there just so I could have gluten-free churros, and they were so yummy, so good. That Nomad lounge was just a fun little hang too great drink menu. And I had some fun beverages there. And then the, yeah the churros with the chocolate and the raspberry dipping sauce. So good. But they weren't like the long churro stick that you get in the park. It was many little churros. Set up really cute and they were fresh and they were so yummy, so good. Melt in your mouth. Yep. That is a must go-to if you're a gluten-free person at Animal Kingdom. Yep. Absolutely love it. And Animal Kingdom has so much good food there. In fact, our favorite restaurants out of all the Disney parks is that Animal Kingdom. And we didn't even eat at all of them. Yeah we tried a whole bunch of different places so that, that lounge was great, like you said, with those churros. Love that tidbit. Let's go to Hollywood Studios. That was our next day, right? This was my favorite day from a food perspective. I'll tell you, we started our day at Star Wars area, and look, I'm not a Star Wars guy. I have no idea what the things are, but I was blown away. Number one, just by Star Wars. Yeah. The whole. Just incredible. I forgot that I was on Planet Earth Yeah. When I was there, so that was incredible. We got the wraps. Jared, remind me what they're called with the sauce. So yeah. The Ronto Roasters, the, oh, breakfast ronto Wrap is one of our favorite meals and those things are to just to die for. So talk about those a little. Yeah we had our very own, because really it's the wrap part that, that's the glutenous part. And they were able to make a very good, very gluten free wrap and man, that I would just go back to to Hollywood Studios just for that. Yeah. And the sauce that they put on there was so good. So good. We didn't miss out. I like, sometimes you look at other people's food and you get a little food envy. Yeah, I didn't have to. Yeah, not at all. That was so good. So good. And then we had of course blue milk. I, again, I You did not, I was the only one that seemed to love it and I would go back for that as well. I was hoping that the glass would've been bigger, but yeah, it's our the Blue Milk and Green Milk are both really good. We love them. We, I always get one of each every time. Daphne and I always drink that. We love it.. Okay. So we're back. If you guys noticed, if you're watching on the video version we just flipped screens and the reason is we were using Zoom and we were timing out of our Zoom. We are now back onto Microsoft Teams and using Microsoft Teams, but we're back with Anthony and Lisa. So we were just talking about. Star Wars Land at Hollywood Studios. Anthony had just told us about the Blue Milk. I was saying that Daphne, and I love the blue milk and green milk. It's one of our favorite things. But like we were saying, the ronto wraps the breakfast morning wrap at Ronto Roasters. Is our favorite way to start the day. We absolutely love that meal. It's so good. And especially if you're gonna be waiting for the longer rides, the longer queue times. So like over at Rise of Resistance, which your guys' first experience on rise of the resistance. Would love for you guys to share a little bit more about that. But you can take food and beverage into that line and go wait if you needed to and enjoy your meal there too. Yeah. And the thing with the wrap it just felt real, like just a lot of food and protein packed. So it really put, put meat on your bones a little bit, right? Yeah. It sustains you. And it was helpful, for our first experience with rise of the Resistance Amazing ride. But it took what, nearly three hours in the queue because it shut down and we ended up being able to ride it, which was amazing. But we were just hanging out. For a long time. Yeah. If we had known we would've gotten food to bring into the queue because we could have used it while we were sitting there in one of those rooms. Yeah. It, that was a long wait. And like you said, the ride broke down, so I was glad we still had a chance to ride it and get on it. Especially for, your guys' first time writing that. It is such a great ride. It's so immersive, yes. But the good news is we still got through the whole park. We were still able to ride everything we wanted to do. So we talked about Star Wars land. Tell us a little bit more. What were some of the other places that we went and ate that you guys absolutely loved? Yeah. So for lunch we ate at the back Lot Express, and Anthony and I were able to get chicken tenders, which were like an unexpected surprise.'cause usually chicken tenders when they're gluten-free. Actually we actually thought we were getting grilled. Yeah. Chicken cont tender. That's just the standard. And so when they came out breaded, we were. Like, so shocked. And then we took a bite and they were crispy and they were just really good. Yep. And again, those, they took longer than your guys' chicken tenders, but Right. Worth the weight with that. Perfect. It was so good. And we'll talk about when we, the next day when we went to Magic Kingdom, but the better of the two chicken tenders that we had. Yeah, no love to hear about that. And the differences between the two. Unfortunately no wookie Cookie right. No we looked at a wookie cookie and I might have smelled the wookie cookie. I took a little lick of the frosting. Yeah, it was so good. Looked so good. Yeah. The wookie cookie is a good one as well, but lots of great things at that backlog express. We love it. We love the Cuban sandwich. We love some of the different salads and offerings, stuff like that. And sometimes, yeah, you need to change up what you're eating throughout the day, so love that. You guys found something good there. What else did you guys have at Hollywood? Yeah, and so honestly as we think about breakfast and lunch, that was like we had a ton to eat and so we didn't really have. We ate a later, later lunch. And so we just snacked away. I think I frankly had popcorn for dinner waiting for Fantasmic to start. But yeah, I didn't, I wasn't like starving that day just 'cause we'd had enough. Yeah. And Stephanie and I did while you guys were doing Tower of Terror. We did go and get a drink. But I think it was just like a coffee and it was very good. Yeah. Oh, I had iced tea. That's what I did. I had a, an iced tea, like a peach iced tea. Iced tea. Yep. And she got a coffee. She got some fancy coffee. Yeah, she very good. She does love those. Yeah, she loves her fancy coffee. But yeah, lots of great food options over there at Hollywood Studios and Fantasmic. We gotta watch a great show at the end of the night. It was crazy because the wind was blowing so much that they almost canceled the show. When they would put the water fans up there to put up all the digital displays was blowing back into the crowd. So finally the wind died down a little bit and we got a chance to watch Fantasmic, which was a fun show. Yeah. But then so fun. We got, we got a little wet. Yeah. But it was well worth it. Yeah. Worth it. Yeah, definitely. But then Sunday, the next day we went to Magic Kingdom. The king of all Disney parks. So talk about Magic Kingdom and your guys' experience there. So we hustled to get into the mind train. Snow white seven doors, mind train. Yeah. Which was worth it. And then Stephanie took the, we were there with our girls. Your Daphne and our daughter Cat. She took the girls to go get breakfast and then came back and surprised us with some kind of breakfast. Not to tater tot. Yep. Do you remember? So yeah, so over at the lunching pad in Tomorrowland they've got similar, like the breakfast type tachos over there as well. Yes. So she got those in the morning. And those same thing are just delicious. Those have sour cream and all kinds of extra add-ons and cheese and good stuff on there. So yes, and so we didn't think those were gluten-free. So when she left we just thought she was going to get breakfast for herself, but Stephanie was wise enough to ask while she was there and so then she came back and had breakfast for us as well. And it was worth it. Yes. So yeah. Yes. So that was good. And we'll talk about this here in, in a minute too, but we were able to rope drop, which actually have a picture of the rope, which was super fun. And I used some of Jared's tips and tricks from previous podcast episodes. But yeah, it was just an easy thing to eat while you're in the queue and enjoy the process of waiting for a fun, fun little ride. Yeah. Yep. What I was gonna jump in and say is we had a rope drop strategy every day. Most of the parks are pretty straightforward, Hey, this is a great place to start your day and get going. Magic Kingdom, as you guys know, we talked about it, there's three or four different strategies Yeah, you can deploy. And this time we decided, hey, let's do mine train. Knock out all the fantasy land early in the morning so we don't have to come back into fantasy land and we can dodge it the rest of the day. We worked our way around towards Tiana's and Frontier Land and adventure Land. And then we came back over into Tomorrow Land and got to do Tron and all that. So we had a really good path and it worked out pretty well for us. Yeah, we got all the rides in that we wanted to get in and yeah, Tron was amazing and I'm glad it was as short as it was 'cause I don't know if I could have taken any longer, but Tron was amazing for sure. Yeah. For lunch, I think we, we went and had we, we had chicken tenders again, we were so pleasantly surprised with the chicken tenders we had before, the day before that we ordered them again. These on the other hand, were not as. They were fine, they were sure, but they just maybe weren't as crispy, weren't as fresh, whatever the case might be. But it was still a very serviceable meal that we were able to have. Yeah, for sure. It wasn't inedible. And that one specifically, we had learned our lesson about ordering, so we ordered before you guys ordered. Yep. And we still had to wait a little bit longer, but it was at least close enough that we kind, got our meals at the same time. Yep. And this was over at the Harbor House. So right across from Haunted Mansion. One thing we love about the Harbor House is not only does it have a pretty in depth menu, it's pretty robust. But they also have seating upstairs. As it got crowded, and I'm sure when we were sitting there for lunch, you guys saw how crowded that place got later in the day where people were waiting for tables. You can always go upstairs and there's usually plenty of seating up there and it's all air conditioned and you can watch people walk around the park. Great place to have a meal over there at Harbor House. From there, like we said, we made our way around into Adventureland. We got some more dole whip, right? We did, in fact. Yeah. So talk about what you guys had there that time. I did mine mixed. I did vanilla with the dole whip and that it just cut it a little bit and it was perfect. Yep. And I just had regular dole whip and it was even better than your cut it one and my favorite's The dole whip with the coconut. So just the mixing of the flavors and then I know we didn't have it but you have the orange Tree terrace over there by Swiss family. Robinson's not too far away, where they also have some other ice cream treats over there. Now, I would imagine ice cream, like similar to the dole Whip, those are probably gluten-free as well and a good treat. Now after just having a dole whip, are we gonna go get a second one? Probably not. But another good option over there in Frontier and Adventure Land. And Jared, I forgot if we go back the night before, I also had a Mickey Bar at Fanta. Oh yeah. And so very much gluten-free and very much delicious. Yes. Mickey bars every kid at Heart's. Favorite treat at all the Disney parks. Absolutely love it. Yes. So what else did you guys have a chance to eat at Magic Kingdom that day? I don't know that we did. We, we were huffing and puffing getting some rides in. So we didn't do a ton of eating the rest of the day, honestly, like the next thing we ate was after we had left the park we got some sandwiches close to the condo. So yeah, that was kinda our last meal of the day. Yeah.'cause we ended with rain and so we missed the fireworks. Yep. Unfortunately. Yeah, it was raining that evening and. Like you said, over by the condo. So another shameless plug for the condo. We found a really good place to eat dinner that night over there by where we live. And the best part about that exit over there in Champions Gate is there are a handful of really great restaurants, including famous ones. Everyone knows like Red Robin Chili's. We've got a couple different brew houses that are over there that have some really unique food. And then there's tons of fast food between we had Jersey Mike's that night, as well as there's a McDonald's right over there. We've got Huey Magoos, which I had never had. Prior to us getting our condo down there, which is very similar to Chick-fil-A and just lots of great restaurants in that area. So again, for the people that want to go down and stay at that condo, lots of good food right there in close proximity. Just less than a mile from our condo. Yeah, and I'll be a little less a little more shameful with a plug like the a dryer dose of Disney's condo down there is so great, it's so comfortable to be at and convenient. Look, central Florida traffic is horrible. There's nothing that Jared can do about that. But the condo is great location. Like Jared mentioned, great restaurants around, and just as super convenient. Very comfortable place to stay. Yeah. And really close to all the parks. So it was easy to get around. So there's something magical right. About being on the highway. And you see the sign for Disney World, you're close, even though if you're an exit or two away there's some psychological thing that, man I'm nearly at the parks. Yeah. And so I. Check out the condo. Worth your stay. Yeah, only two exits away. And I'll say, other than, first thing in the morning, you get a little bit of the rush hour, just for about a mile or two. It's not too bad. Coming home, we definitely saw more traffic but coming home, they have construction going on. Knock on wood, they get that one finished up. And as soon as that construction's done, we know last time when they finished, everything just opened wide back up and it was going again. Okay, so four days in the parks we did Disney Springs as well. Do you guys want to talk anything about Disney Springs or remember any of the foods that we had over there? Yeah, we've been to Disney Springs a few times and we are able to navigate really well with gluten-free stuff. We've done plight pig, we've done a deluxe burger, we've done the chicken guy, the quicker serve places. And all three of those specifically had really good gluten-free options. The burger at deluxe Burger. The bun was just, so good. Yep. So that's, it's well worth the stop there. Yeah. If it didn't have the toothpick in it saying that it was an allergy and gluten-free, I would've wondered if I was eating a regular bun.'cause the bun was very good. Yeah. Yeah. And then of course, the doll whip there. Yeah. We did not get any of this time, but we've gotten stuck, gotten that in years past. Yep. Swirls on the water. Yeah. It's so good over there. We love going to Disney Springs, and I tell people all the time, Hey, it's a free way to spend the afternoon. That's right. Get into Disney Spirit mindset. You can buy all the merch, all the gear, get some great food over there. It's a lot of fun. Like you said over in Africa, in animal Kingdom, they have, musicians over there at Animal Kingdom, but they also do the same thing over at Disney Springs, especially on the weekends. So lots of cool live performances out there. Your daughter, she had a band thing, so the band played and the choir sang. So there's always. A good entertainment to be had over there at Disney Spring. So a great place to go that's totally free for most people, that's right. And plenty of like options in terms of things to eat, sit down, quick, serve and everything in between. Yeah. Love it. So two final questions for you. So the first question I have is out of the whole time you were there for each one of you individually, what was the best thing that you ate that was gluten-free? Mine's a tie. It's between those chicken tenders at Hollywood Studios and the churros in Animal Kingdom. Oh, that's, those are good. I'm gonna have to go with the, is it the Ronto Wrap? Yeah. At star Wars Land. I. And with a close second of the blue Milk. Like I, I could have both of those, like for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Yep. I would be a happy camper. So Good. So Anthony's moving into Galaxy's Edge over there. So the black spire outpost. That's right. He's gonna be a Star Wars guy after I just about did that in, in the queue for rise of the resistance. So I felt like I needed a sleeping bag to to be comfortable. Yeah. You gotta move it. And if you did, see i'm wearing a new R-S-V-L-T-S shirt for Roosevelt's that absolutely love that. I got right about the time we went on the trip, which is the new R 2D two one and it fits right in over there at Galaxy's Edge, the Star Wars land. So that's right. My second question for you guys is, I don't know if you thought about it, but is there an I can do this all day tip of the day when it comes to being gluten-free at the parks? Yeah. So for me, and we may share the same thing the game changer for us was the app the, my Disney Experience app. We didn't necessarily realize that at Epcot, but then when we got back to the condo after Epcot, we got online to look at the restaurants for the next day, and we were able to then scroll down to the bottom, see what was gluten free and really plan out. That part of our day the food part of our day based on the menu that we saw there. And so my, I can do this all day. Tip of the day would be to check out the app, use it, pair a day, a night in advance. For what you're gonna explore that next day. Yeah. I was gonna say plan ahead. So we knew what rides we were gonna do, and so we had an idea of where we were gonna be around the meal times. So that night before, we would all just sit around, we would debrief the day. Yep. Download pictures, do all the things. And then we were planning, which sounded silly at the time to be planning our meals for the next day, but it made it such so much easier when we were in the parks and then we weren't trying to figure the app out. As we're running to the next ride and things like that. So I think that would be mine. Yeah. Yeah. And the other thing that I would say, this is unrelated to food, but I would say go back and listen to all of Jared's rope drop strategies. I felt like we were living that in real time. Like I'd listened to those, gosh, probably a year ago now, but now to be saying, being be in the moment. It was just a pretty sweet moment. So Jared definitely knows what he's talking about. Go back and listen to those episodes. You will be so glad you did to optimize your time at the parks. Yeah, thank you very much. I love it. And I couldn't agree more. When you're out there, if you're going by the, flying by the seat of your pants you're not gonna get as many rides in. You're gonna miss stuff. You're gonna miss shows, you're gonna miss opportunities with your family. And if you go in Lisa, like you said, with a plan. And pre-plan your day a little bit. Here's where we wanna start. Here's where we want to go. And don't get me wrong, sometimes you think I'm gonna go to this ride next, and maybe it's got a long line. Skip it, go hit something else and come back to it later. You're, you have that flexibility, but if you have a plan for the day, it's gonna make it so much more smooth. It's gonna make it easier. You're usually gonna get every single ride in that you want to ride. Because not all of us wanna ride every single ride. We didn't do the teacups. We nobody wants to get sick. Yeah. Spinning around on those teacups. Some of those rides we skipped, but the ones we wanted to do, we made sure we hit, we had a time to do it. And in the app even. So like you were talking about the food and pre-planning your food, you can even look at each of the rides and if you click into 'em, you can see when they peak throughout the day and you can plan around that. Rise of the resistance is gonna peak early in the morning. If you can get into it later in the day or Tron later in the day, you're gonna be able to save a ton of time and not have to, wait, unfortunately we did on Rise, but you're not gonna be waiting 90 minutes, two hours on some of these rides when you could do it in 30 minutes. Just by planning your day out. So great tip on that. Very much appreciate it. With that, you guys, we are so thankful we got to do Disney with you. It was amazing. It was such a fun trip. We had such a great time. We I am sure you guys have to do it again. Whether it's Disney or we do another cruise together we love getting our families together and I know without a doubt that we will definitely do it. But Disney was a great time with you guys. We absolutely loved it, and we can't wait to do it again with you guys. Absolutely. This was so fun. Reliving that a month later. I can almost taste the ronto wrap. Don't even know what they're called. Still wrap, but that wrap, ronto wrap? Yeah. So good. Yep. It's so good. I can almost taste it again. Okay. To all of our listeners, we thank you so much for tuning in. Definitely subscribe to us. Check us out next time. Like I said, in the future, we're gonna be bringing you episodes. On traveling internationally as well as anything else that we can pepper in as new things come up from Disney or from the Universal parks. But we wish you a magical week and then we will talk to you guys next time. Bye-bye.
